Alphabet is expanding its artificial intelligence chatbot, Bard, in Europe and Brazil, making it available in over 40 languages and adding new features such as the ability to change the tone and style of its responses. Bard and its Microsoft-backed rival ChatGPT use generative AI to hold conversations with users and answer various prompts.
Google had to meet with local privacy regulators before launching Bard in the EU, and users can opt out of their data being collected. However, Google has been hit with a class action lawsuit in the US over alleged misuse of personal information to train its AI system.
