PhotoniCare has developed a patented imaging platform technology that provides growth opportunities beyond otology.
PhotoniCare to improve the patient standard of care by equipping physicians with better diagnostic tools developed out of a bioengineering research lab at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). The current state-of-the-art technology for diagnosing ear disease is the otoscope, which is essentially a magnifying glass with no capability to look beneath the surface of the tissue, such as behind the eardrum where most ear disease begins. PhotoniCare is commercializing patented technology from UIUC that can look through the eardrum and into the middle ear to enable more accurate screening and diagnosis of ear disease.
