ucair is a platform for thermographic droneinspections of solar power plants
ucair utilizes the most recent developments in drones and sensors to make the inspection of photovoltaic plants easier, faster and more transparent for owners, operators and investors. Founded in early 2017 by Christian Shuster and Marian Krüger in Berlin, the startup utilizes a steadily growing network of drone pilots with thermographic cameras to capture infrared images of the customers’ PV plants. After the aerial inspection, the data is transmitted to ucair for further analysis. Using a semi-automated process, the company combines the processing speed and accuracy of analysis software with the human expertise of a network of PV experts to detect yield-reducing defects such as defective strings or damaged modules. In the end, the customer receives a transparent report, detailing the status of the PV plant, the defects that were identified and the inherent yield potential. The report also includes recommendations for suitable maintenance services and their financial benefits in the short, medium and long run.
