It operates through six segments: Cooperative Retailing, Commerce, Industry and Wholesaling, Financial Services, Travel, and Others. The Cooperative Retailing segment is involved in the operation of supermarkets and hypermarkets; and wholesale, catering, specialist markets, leisure, and club schools businesses. This segment also provides health services; and logistics services, such as transportation of goods and central warehousing services. The Commerce segment sells men’s and ladies’ wear, home accessories, entertainment media, office equipment, electro mobility products, and heating and fuel oils; and operates furniture, Internet retail, and convenience stores. The Industry and Wholesaling segment engages in the manufacture and sale of food and near food products, and non-food products under its own brands and labels. The Financial Services segment provides banking products and services. The Travel segment offers tour operator, travel agent, and other related tourist services. The Others segment provides property management services. The company is involved in operating fitness studios and a shopping center; and the production and sale of dried meat, and cold sauces and spices. The Federation of Migro Cooperatives that began operation on August 15, 1925 became Migros-Genossenschafts-Bund in January 1941, with its headquarters in Zurich in Switzerland.
