New court documents in the FTX case reveal that if expert witnesses testify on behalf of SBF, they will be paid over $1,000 per hour. SBF may call upon seven expert witnesses to testify in the fraud trial scheduled for October 2, 2023. The recommended expert witnesses include Lawrence Akka, Thomas Bishop, Brian Kim, Joseph Pimbley, Bradley Smith, Peter Vinella, and Andrew Di Wu. According to a court document dated August 28th, for example, former Federal Election Commission Chairman Bradley Smith will charge SBF's legal team $1,200 per hour to testify on issues such as US campaign finance law and straw donors.
