Alex Zyngier is a graduate of the University of Campinas, Brazil with a degree in Chemical Engineering and also a graduate of the University of Chicago with an MBA in Finance & Accounting. He started his career as a technical brand manager for Procter & Gamble in Venezuela and Brazil from 1991 to 1995. After his MBA, he worked as an consultant for McKinsey & Co. in Chicago and New York from 1997 to 2001. He joined CRT Capital Group LLC in 2002 as a sell side analyst publishing credit research. In 2003, he joined Goldman Sachs & Co. where he worked as a distressed portfolio manager until 2007 when he joined Deutsche Bank until 2008. From 2009 to 2013, he was a Portfolio Manager for Alden Global Capital, a $3.5 billion fund investing in distressed and deep value securities in the Americas and Europe. Alex Zyngier is the founding partner of Batuta Capital Advisors LLC where he works actively with a select set of companies and credit/equity investors to execute special situation credit/equity financings. He is also on the board of GT Advanced Technologies Inc., a private company in the advanced materials sector, as well as AudioEye, Inc., a technology company that provides web access to individuals with disability.
