Before joining RIM, he spent four years investing and managing his own Investment Fund, where he enjoyed a few substantial successes such as Ubiquity Software which IPOed in 2005 and sold to Avaya in 2007. He has held both technical and general management responsibilities in the telecommunications segment with firms such as Bell Northern Research, Nortel, Research in Motion (RIM) and Vodafone. He spent 15 years with Bell Northern Research (R&D for Northern Telecom) and Nortel holding a variety of roles in software development, operations and ultimately sales working across North America, Europe and Asia. He served as Advisor in the Information Technology Group at VantagePoint Capital Partners.
