David Lawee is a Canadian-born business executive, entrepreneur and investor. He is the Founder and General Partner of CapitalG, Alphabet’s independent growth fund. Lawee has been an executive with Alphabet since 2005. He was Google’s Vice President of Corporate Development, managing the company’s acquisitions and investments. Before that, he served as Google’s first Vice President of Marketing, managing all of Google’s consumer, advertiser and partner marketing globally. Before Google, Lawee founded 4 companies including Xfire, a leading online gaming community that was acquired by Viacom, and Mosaic Venture Partners, a Toronto-based venture capital firm. He currently sits on the board of Credit Karma, Lyft and Convoy.
