Eric Olden is the Executive Chairman & Founder of Symplified. Eric is a widely respected thought leader in identity management. He is also the visionary behind Symplified’s strategy to secure the cloud.

Eric was the chief designer of the SinglePoint platform, Symplified’s identity services and The Trust Cloud on Amazon. His vision is to enable ubiquitous identity that enables all organizations, from the Fortune 500 to small or mid-sized businesses, to realize the potential of the cloud.

Symplified was founded on the belief that in order to reach cloud-scale, identity must be made simple and be delivered as a utility service, and Eric has relentlessly pursued that goal since starting the company in 2007.

Eric’s career in identity management began in 1995 when he founded Securant Technologies in San Francisco. Securant scaled from two guys and an idea to nearly 300 employees and hundreds of enterprise customers before its $140 million acquisition by RSA. As CTO of Securant, Eric pioneered the market for Web Access Management and User Provisioning with the industry leading ClearTrust product. A staunch believer in standards, Eric co-authored AuthXML with Darren Platt and negotiated its combination with Netegrity’s S2ML to create Oasis’ SAML standard.

Eric has been published in several technical journals and is a regular speaker at industry events. He was awarded US Patent #6,460,141 for his pioneering designs for web identity. He is a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley.
