Gary G. Lynch is global general counsel and head of Compliance and Regulatory Relations for Bank of America, responsible for overseeing the company’s legal and compliance functions and its relationships with regulators and law enforcement authorities around the world.Based in New York, Lynch is also a member of the bank’s executive management team.Lynch joined Bank of America from Morgan Stanley, where he was vice chairman of the firm based in London. Joining Morgan Stanley in 2005, he also served as their chief legal officer. Lynch also held senior leadership positions at Credit Suisse First Boston including global general counsel and executive vice chairman. Prior to that, he was a partner of Davis Polk & Wardwell where he represented and advised financial institutions and other clients. Most notably, Lynch served as the U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission's chief of the enforcement division from 1985 to 1989.Lynch currently sits on the board of trustees of the Brooklyn Academy of Music.
