Mr. Shaheen joined Caterpillar in 1967 and held a variety of management positions. Mr. Shaheen retired from Caterpillar effective February 1, 2008.

Mr. Shaheen is a board member and past chairman of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, a board member of the MS Society of Greater Illinois, Chairman of the Illinois Neurological Institute, and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Bradley University. Within the past five years, Mr. Shaheen served on the board of National City Corporation.
