Matt Smith is SteelEye’s CEO. He has over 18 years’ experience as a manager, technologist and business partner, and specialises in helping firms use technology and their data to gain a competitive edge and solve complex regulatory needs.

Matt has spent his career in technology management, and prior to his role at SteelEye he was CIO for a global, $100bn dollar trading company, where he was responsible for regulatory technology and the deployment of big data, trading and analytics platforms. He then spent time at a world-leading financial technology firm where he held a senior role in delivering financial regulation and compliance solutions.

The time spent looking for opportunities to help firms solve their regulatory problems in a new and dynamic way led to the creation of SteelEye. As CEO, Matt is in charge of a dynamic team helping firms to both extract value from their otherwise dormant data and reducing costs when meeting their regulatory obligations.
