Regina Dugan is a Chief Executive Officer at Wellcome Leap. Dugan was formerly Senior Vice President of Advanced Technology and Projects at Google/ Google’s Motorola Mobility LLC, a telecommunications equipment company. She also serves on the Board of Directors of Varian Medical Systems, Inc. (NYSE: VAR), which she joined in December 2013.

From July 2009 to March 2012, she served as director of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, the principal agency within the U.S. Department of Defense for research, development, and demonstration of high-risk, high-payoff capabilities.

Prior to that, she held several executive positions, including co-founder, President, and CEO at RedXDefense LLC, a security solutions company, from 2005-2009, and co-founder, President, and CEO at Dugan Ventures, an investment firm where she continues to serve as a non-voting partner, from 2001-2009. Dr. Dugan is an inventor or co-inventor on several patents and holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the California Institute of Technology (Caltech).
