Shinji Shirasaki is a member of the Board of Directors and a senior executive director, overseeing the Electronic Systems Business Group at DENSO Corporation in Kariya, Aichi, Japan.

Shirasaki began his automotive career at DENSO Corporation (formerly Nippondenso Co. Ltd.) in 1974 after he graduated from Osaka University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications Engineering.

Throughout his career, he contributed to the development of new engine management technologies. He has developed ECUs that have cleared various emission regulations in Europe, United States and Japan. Because of his accomplishments DENSO leads the industry in this product field.

In 1997, Shirasaki was named director of DENSO's Electronic Engineering Division and later promoted to director of the entire Electronics Business Unit in 2002.

In June 2004, he was named one of DENSO's executive directors. He was promoted to senior executive director in June 2008.

DENSO, a leading global supplier of advanced automotive technology, systems and components, employs over 130,000 people in 36 countries and regions, including Japan. Consolidated global sales for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2013 totaled US$38.1 billion.
