Stephen Ko (Hong Kong) joined KKR in 2005 and leads KKR’s Consumer and Retail industry teams in the Asia-Pacific region. He is also a senior member of KKR’s Korea team. Mr. Ko has played a significant role in many investments including Oriental Brewery, Big Heart Pet Brands (formerly known as Del Monte Foods), Biomet, Sealy, and Weld North, where he served on the board of directors for each company. He has also been involved in KKR’s investments in Masan Consumer and Harman International. Prior to joining KKR, Mr. Ko was with the private equity group of The Blackstone Group where he was involved in the execution of numerous investments in the industrial, chemical, energy, media, and technology sectors. Prior to completing his M.B.A., he was with Clayton, Dubilier & Rice, where he was involved in a broad range of private equity transactions, and in the Investment Banking Division of Goldman, Sachs & Co. Mr. Ko holds an A.B., magna cum laude, from Harvard College, an M.Phil from Cambridge University, and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
