Throughout his career, Tyler Garrard has been immersed in the workings of high-performance engines everything from two-stroke racing engines to flexible-fuel SULEV engines developed for hybrid vehicle applications.He has done extensive testing work on automotive electronic fuel injection and data acquisition systems, and also co-developed several advanced proof-of-concept vehicles and powertrain dynamometers for DARPA, GM Advanced Vehicles, and Visteon.Mr. Garrard holds a bachelors degree in mechanical engineering, with emphasis in advanced automotive powertrains and combustion engine design, from the University of California Davis.Career highlights:Research engineer at the University of California Davis Hybrid Electric Vehicle Center.Project engineer at Tilton Engineering in Buellton, California.Chief design engineer at TWM Induction in Goleta, California.Program manager for commercial and military Electric Power Cell (epc) programs at Advanced Propulsion Systems, Inc., in Goleta, California, where he also worked with Dr. Peter Hofbauer on developing the opoc™ engine.
