Weiyu Tan (Hong Kong) joined KKR in 2007 in Private Equity covering South East Asia and Greater China. While a member of the KKR Private Equity team, Mr. Tan was involved in the investments in MMI, Unisteel, Yageo and Qingdao Haier. In 2014, Mr. Tan moved to KKR Capital Markets (KCM) and is responsible for the execution of equity and debt-related transactions for KKR acquisitions, KKR portfolio companies as well as third party clients in North Asia as well as South East Asia. Key transactions include Unisteel, Qingdao Haier, Far Eastern Horizon, Yageo, Riverview, United Envirotech, Goodpack, Pioneer DJ, Weststar, and MMI. Prior to joining KKR, Mr. Tan was with JP Morgan Securities in New York and was involved in a variety of mergers, acquisitions, leveraged finance and other corporate advisory transactions in the energy sector. He holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Chicago.
